Report: Improved Reading Achievement by Students in the Clarke County School District Who Used Fast ForWord® Products

Language and reading skills are critical for all students, impacting the students’ ability to benefit from instruction, follow directions, and participate in class discussions. Strong linguistic skills also provide a critical foundation for building reading and writing skills. During the 2010 – 2011 school year, students in the Clarke County School District who used Fast ForWord products made statistically significant gains in reading achievement. It was also shown that students who used the Fast ForWord products in previous years made similar gains, and that in the years that followed, these gains were maintained or increased. These results applied to students of different grade levels as well as students in the Limited English Proficiency and Special Education subgroups, which supports other studies demonstrating that using Fast ForWord products strengthens foundational skills of students with various backgrounds and abilities and helps them benefit more from the classroom curriculum.
