The 5 steps to successful implementation.
To help your school or district get the best results possible from using Fast ForWord® products, our "We Care" team has developed a 5-step implementation process that is proven to boost achievement in your school or district.
1. Setting the plan
- Together, we assess your needs, both overall and for each group of students.
- Together, we outline specific goals, such as bringing at-risk students up to grade level reading and/or reducing the number of students that qualify for Special Education services.
- We help you maximize your resources, including helping you find appropriate spaces in which to run Fast ForWord products and identify appropriate personnel for program coordination and student coaching.
2. Scheduling professional development
- Your staff will have access to online professional training courses, including courses on Language and the Brain, the Developing Brain, and The Reading Brain.
- Your staff will attend on-site professional development training, including 1 to 2 day sessions in which they will get an overview of Fast ForWord products and their impact on student learning.
- We show you how to work with your community, specifically addressing the need for strong parental involvement to create support for your Fast ForWord product implementation.
3. Setting the schedule
- We provide guidance on appropriate pre- and post testing strategies.
- We work with you to coordinate a timeframe for Fast ForWord product use, taking into consideration your school calendar, personnel, and computer availability; pre- and post-testing periods; and implementation time.
4. Creating the learning environment
- We help you optimize your lab or classroom environment so that it is quiet and free of distractions. Optimization includes computers that meet technical specifications, high-quality stereo headphones and adapters to allow a coach and/or teacher to listen along with the student.
- We show you how to implement our protocol, so students can complete the content as quickly as possible and see the best results.
- We give you ideas for supplying motivation and rewards, including bulletin boards, newsletters, daily announcements, PTA meetings, and more.
- We guide you in supervision and coaching, including preparing students to use Fast ForWord products, encouragement and praise, demonstration exercises, intervention strategies, monitoring computer stations, and sharing results.
5. Seeing the gains
- We help you in reviewing Fast ForWord Progress Tracker data, including a variety of reports, so you learn to accurately interpret the results and email and/or print them for administrators, teachers and parents.
- We show you how to coordinate and interpret all test results for individual students and/or groups of students.
