OAKLAND, CA - January 7, 2008 - Scientific Learning (NASDAQ: SCIL) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Soliloquy Reading AssistantTM and all other assets of the Soliloquy Learning business from JTT Holdings, Inc. Reading Assistant is a software tool that combines advanced speech recognition technology with scientifically-based interventions to help elementary and secondary students strengthen their reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension toward becoming proficient, life-long readers. The acquisition agreement between Scientific Learning and JTT Holdings for the assets of Soliloquy Learning was announced on December 18, 2007. The van Tulleken Company, with offices in New York City and London, acted as sole advisor to JTT Holdings regarding its strategic options for the Soliloquy business, and led the negotiations and execution of the transaction on its behalf.
