OAKLAND, Calif.—Scientific Learning Corp. (NASDAQ:SCIL) today announced that Neuroscience Learning Co., Ltd. (NSL), a corporation based in Seoul (www.nslearning.co.kr), will be the exclusive distributor in South Korea for the Fast ForWord family of products, educational software that accelerates learning by developing the student brain to process more efficiently. Through this partnership, Fast ForWord software will be available through a network of Fast ForWord centers and other providers across South Korea.

"Neuroscience Learning is focused on enhancing the cognitive development and well-being of our rapidly growing number of clients," said Youngchul Park, president of NSL. "Fast ForWord software is a natural fit for us, since it builds on advances in neuroscience and cognitive research and has an unparalleled record of efficacy. Koreans at every age, and especially students, are preparing for a competitive future. The Fast ForWord software helps learners of all ages develop the cognitive skills required to read and learn effectively, giving them a competitive edge."

The Fast ForWord products will be used by elementary, secondary, university and adult learners for a variety of purposes, including improving academic success and English language skills. The Fast ForWord software is currently in use at Busan National University, and in Fast ForWord centers and sites in Seoul, Cheonan, Daejeon, Jeonju, Daegu, and Kwangju.

"We see the Korean market as one of the most attractive in Asia because of its outstanding culture of learning, a robust economy, and the recognition of the role academic achievement and English language proficiency play in global and regional competitiveness," said Robert C. Bowen, CEO of Scientific Learning Corp. "NSL is a partner that exemplifies the characteristics of this market, and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them."

The Fast ForWord family of products consists of scientifically proven, intervention programs that apply neuroscience principles to build the fundamental cognitive skills required to read and learn. The products work by improving the brain's processing efficiency—how the brain functions to support learning and intellectual activity, including memory, attention, processing rate, and sequencing—with intensive exercises that adapt to each student's level. Students across the globe have used more than one million Fast ForWord products.
