Oakland, CA, June 13, 2007—While many schools invest in technology to improve students' reading skills, few have the tools to, quickly and easily, assess students throughout the school year to accurately gauge their progress. To help K-12 schools and districts better evaluate student gains, Scientific Learning Corporation (NASDAQ: SCIL) today announces Reading Progress Indicator, a new computerized assessment designed to rapidly measure the effects of the Fast ForWord® family of reading intervention products.
Reading Progress Indicator is a summative, normed assessment that quickly evaluates the impact of Fast ForWord product use on a student's reading progress. Developed by Bookette Software Company, a leading educational assessment software firm, Reading Progress Indicator is a new feature of Fast ForWord Progress Tracker, an online data analysis and reporting tool that enables educators to monitor performance by students working on Fast ForWord products.
